Species of fish include Florida bass, smallmouth bass, channel catfish, crappie, bluegill and sturgeon.  Lake Cuyamaca is the only San Diego lake that is able to stock trout all year long, Stocked with over 38,000 lbs. In order to fish at the lake, you need a license and a permit. You can fish along the lakeside, on the T-shaped fishing-floats, or on a boat.
